Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Campsite Prep, LLC, doing business as STR Inspections ("STR Inspections," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at shortterminspections.com (the "Site") or engage our property inspection services (the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us:
| When | What we collect |
|---|---|
| Booking an inspection | Your name, email address, phone number (optional), property name and address, guest capacity, requested service type, and any notes you provide |
| General contact form | Your name, email address, phone number (optional), and message |
| During an inspection | Photographs of the property, and notes recorded by our team about its condition |
We do not collect payment card information through the Site, since payment is arranged separately from any booking or contact form.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on inspections and other Services you request
- To generate and deliver your inspection report
- To communicate with you about your booking, an inquiry, or a quote
- To maintain internal records of work performed
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. How We Store Your Information
Booking and contact form submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Property photographs and generated reports are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Both are operated by Cloudflare, Inc., our infrastructure provider, and are located on Cloudflare's servers within the United States. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the Site.
We make automated nightly backup copies of our database so your booking and report data is not lost to a technical failure. The backup job runs on GitHub, Inc. infrastructure, which briefly processes the exported data before the backup copy is stored in Cloudflare R2 alongside our other data. Daily backup copies are kept for 14 days, and a monthly copy is kept for up to 12 months.
The Site sets two first-party cookies to support its own internal traffic analytics: a session cookie (expires after 30 minutes of inactivity) and a visitor cookie (expires after 1 year). Each holds only a randomly generated identifier, not your name, email, or any other personal information, and is not shared with any third party or used for advertising. Together they let us tell how many visits are from new versus returning visitors and group page views into sessions, so we can understand overall Site traffic. We do not use these cookies to identify you individually, and they are not linked to information you separately give us through the booking or contact form.
The Site also records aggregate page-view metrics for its own internal use: the page visited, the referring site (if any), your browser's user-agent string (which identifies general device and browser type, e.g. "mobile Safari"), and an approximate location (city/region/country) derived from your connection, provided automatically by our hosting provider.
To keep this traffic data meaningful, we also check a few automated signals at the moment of your visit (browser language, timezone, and screen size, along with the standard technical information every request already carries) to filter out search-engine crawlers, monitoring tools, and other automated traffic. These signals are used only in that instant to make that determination and are not stored.
A single opt-out cookie is available (set by visiting the Site with ?notrack=1 in the URL) that stops the page-view recording and the session/visitor cookies described above for that browser. The opt-out cookie itself carries no identifying information and is never read by anything other than the page itself.
4. Who We Share Information With
We share information only as necessary to operate our business:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the Site, stores our data, and routes email sent to our domain, as our infrastructure provider
- GitHub, Inc., which runs our automated nightly database backup job (see Section 3)
- Contractors or staff we engage to perform an inspection or remediation work you have requested
- As required by law, subpoena, or other legal process
We do not share your information with data brokers, advertisers, or any party for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain booking records, reports, and photographs for as long as reasonably necessary for our business records, quality control, and legal or tax compliance. You may request that we delete your information by contacting us at the address below, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it by law or have a legitimate business reason not to.
Because of the automated database backups described in Section 3, a copy of your information deleted from our live systems may persist in a backup for up to 14 days (daily backups) or up to 12 months (the monthly backup made on the 1st of each month), until that backup copy is automatically rotated out.
6. Your Choices
You may contact us at any time to:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information, subject to Section 5 above
7. Security
We rely on Cloudflare's infrastructure security and take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide us. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for property owners and property managers and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
